Exploring the Colonial Zone: Parque Colón and Ancient Walls
The Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo is a treasure of the Dominican Republic, offering a captivating glimpse into the country’s rich history and colonial heritage. As you wander through the narrow, cobblestone streets, you’ll be surrounded by beautifully preserved 16th-century architecture, including the iconic Catedral Primada de América, the oldest cathedral in the Americas.
One of the must-visit landmarks in the Colonial Zone is the Parque Colón, a picturesque plaza that is surrounded by some of the city’s most significant colonial-era buildings.
